We Go Together…..

As Latinos, have you ever noticed that we have a few dishes that are completely uniform!? Dishes that we must have no matter what is on the side. I know I do. Mine is the avocado. I put it in everything, including, salads, rice, meat, sandwiches, my hair and face. (Don’t judge, avocado masks are super conditioning). Avocado is also very healthy. It can be used as a meal, a snack or even dessert. Yes dessert!! A lot of vegans use avocado as a major ingredient in sweet treats. I, as a vegetarian, find it so hard to find a cure for my sweet tooth. Since avocado is both yummy and nutritious, I can use it to satisfy my craving for sweets without the consequences of a sugar overload. How, you ask!? Very simple. The best thing to do is start off with baby steps. Don’t dig into a bowl of avocado ice cream just yet. Let’s try by starting you off with one of my favorites. Avocado pudding. It’s simple, tastes great, and is quite healthy. Perfect for the little ones who don’t like avocado, but love fun looking food! Just tell them it’s Hulk Food!!

Avocado Pudding

What you need:

1 avocado peel and pit removed

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

What to do:

Mash avocado with an electric mixer, or use a food processor, then blend in the milk, sugar and vanilla until nice and smooth

Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes garnish with a berry like I did if you want
