Table Designs as featured on Telemundo
I chose to demonstrate three tables, each for different occasions and ranging in different prices, from three different stores.

IKEA TABLE DESIGN
Ikea table design by Marlene Pratt
My Ikea Table was the most playful of the three. As soon as you walk into the room the table cloth alone lets you know you are about to have lots of fun.

The square plates give this setting a modern Asian taste without an ethnic feel. The plates do not need to be all round or all square. A creative mix of shapes, colors, stripes and sizes help achieve this eclectic look. The drinkware does not need to match either, but it does have to complement the table somehow.
The centerpiece – or the decorative crowning – is an extension of the table. Keeping it simple yet elegant is the key. Three square clear glass vases with blue glass stones and a single rose in each add to the simpleness of it all.
Remember setting a traditional table is not required at every gathering.

Home Goods Table Design
My Home Goods table was intimately designed for two. It delivers a charming, romantic message where words are not needed. The table cloth shines in a red and gold checker board pattern, outlined with a beaded edging that hints that there is some loving going on.
The two large decorative silver platters act as the foundation that holds the other plates in place. I wanted to convey a dream-like feeling; that’s why I selected creamy white plates instead of plain white. The plates have a subtle design, that when noticed, one must take a second look.

To add a bit of sparkle the center plate is outlined by two silver lines that complement the silver platter. The drinkware is exquisite yet inexpensive. With its height, the goblets also complement the height of the candle holders as shining crystal towels. Last but not least, are the rose petals sprinkled on the table proclaiming a big, “I Love You”.

MACY’S TABLE DESIGN
Macy*s table design by Marlene Pratt
My Macys Table says, “Come family lets gather”.
This was the most expensive of the three, and also the most durable. Denby products are a “Class Act”. Not only are they stunning in their varied selection of patterns, but these products are microwave, dishwasher, oven and even freezer safe.
They are a home owners dream come true. Presentation is everything, and the combination of these two whimsical patterns – the soup bowl with its dots and the dinner plate with its stripes – say it all.
The setting is casual enough for everyday use yet festive enough for company. The table cloth was kept simple to not compete with the plates, yet the mats do make quite a sparking statement.

The Napkins though a different color, also carried a whimsical dotted pattern. The drinkware was simply beautiful; both sets of glasses were etched with playful elegant patterns. Do not be afraid to dress your table with modern elegance in refined versatile patterns.
