While a box of chocolates and a dozen roses are always appreciated, why not spice things up a bit this Valentine’s Day?  Get creative, start a new tradition and surprise your sweetheart with one, or all, of the following suggestions for a Valentine’s Day celebration you’ll both cherish:

Romantic Déjà Vu

Surprise your sweetie with a trip back in time. Recreate your first date, minus the butterflies and awkward kiss at the end of the night.

Give The Gift Of Time Together

In today’s fast-paced world, the simple pleasure of one another’s company is a rare indulgence. Turn off your phones, stay in bed, and just snuggle awhile.

Start The Countdown

As soon as your valentine wakes up, give a gift from the heart, then follow up with a similar gesture each hour. Don’t break the bank-simple gifts like framed photos, original poetry and back rubs go a long way.

Customize Your Cocktail Napkins

Pick up your preferred napkins from a party supply store, buy a festive rubber heart or Cupid stamp and inkpad, and stamp away.

We’ll Always Have Paris

Set a vintage romance mood with a classic Hollywood love story in the DVD player and some snuggles on the couch. Complete the movie theater moment with some bubbly and truffle popcorn.

Include A Romantic Cocktail To Sweeten Up Your Celebration

Chandon Love Potion

Rim a chilled martini glass with red sugar. In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine one ounce cranberry simple syrup (recipe below) and ½ ounce fresh-squeezed orange juice. Shake until chilled, strain into glass, and top with three ounces Chandon Sparkling Rosé. Enjoy and repeat!

Cranberry Simple Syrup:
1 cup unsweetened cranberry juice
1 cup sugar of choice
Combine in a heavy saucepan on low heat.
Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Store in glass jar in the fridge.
Yields 1 1/4 cup.
