By now you probably have everything you need for you Thanksgiving meal; the turkey…check, stuffing…check, …rice and beans…check,…empanadas for an appetizer…check. And you probably some sort of traditional drink depending on what country in Latino America you or your family came from. Personally, I love coquito during the holidays. It’s sweet. It’s strong. What’s not to like?
But this year I thought, why not add something a little different to our family celebration? So I went in search of a recipe that has similar elements to what I like about coquito, sweet and strong, and I found Kahlúa’s Cookie Martini. A cookie flavored martini. Who thinks of these things? Regardless, I think it is quite clever and delicious sounding so I’m giving it a try. And I’m sharing the recipe in case you’re looking for something a little different for your Holiday celebrations season:
½ part Kahlúa Gingerbread
1 ½ parts Absolut® Vodka
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy.
Note: Kahlúa has teamed up with One Warm Coat’s to promote their “Share the Warmth” campaign.
